Genealogy Detective Agency,
Holistic Genealogy Research

I have been researching my genealogy intermittently since about 2003 and I've probably made just about every amatuer mistake a genealogist can make. I've had organizational snarls and digital meltdowns and paperwork travesties. I'm hoping that this section of my blog can help you avoid those early mistakes that I made.

My Families: Pages dedicated to the surname clusters in my tree.

I've also searched through other genealogists' blogs trying to find what works for me and what doesn't. There's techniques that I learned from them and tweaks on their ideas that worked and tweaks that were a disaster for me.

To other Genealogy Bloggers: If I share something here and don't give credit where credit is due, I sincerely apologize! It has been a gross oversight! I may have lost your link and website or hit post not realizing that I forgot to add it in before I did.
Just shoot me a message or comment and I'll fix that right away!

General Information Pages & Inspiration

Another aspect of this blog is to encourage you if you are just starting out. Genealogy research can seem daunting and it is in fact overwhelming. Which site should you get your information from? Which program is the best to use? Can you conduct research on a very tight shoestring budget? Do I have to pay for all these memberships to do it right? Am I even doing any of this right??

My hope is that your interest in your own genealogy does not wane under the huge and crushing weight of information overload. Below are pages I have built to encourage and provide information about genealogy.
